SPRING WEDDING IN A HOST OF DAFFODILS

Back in April I had the enormous privilege of being Sarah and James’s Myres Castle wedding photographer.

It was the first time I’d been to the castle and when I arrived I immediately knew it would be a place I’d adore working. As a documentary wedding photographer, I could see that it would give me a wonderful opportunity to capture the day in all its glory with a true storytelling approach.

Here’s a photofilm of some of my favourite photos of the day….. I hope you enjoy it!

Wonderful way to start married life

The weather on the day was absolutely glorious and the daffodils were at their peak. No one realised it at the time but the dome of blue overhead and the sun cracking the sky was the start of one of the best runs of weather we’ve had in Scotland for years…. a wonderful day to start your married life!!

I was the Myres Castle wedding photographer that day and I loved the transition from place to place as the day progressed. Each space was unique and each new set of surroundings offered a fresh atmosphere which kept the whole day fresh and new.

Woodland wedding ceremony

Sarah’s preparations were in the historic surroundings of the castle. Then we moved out into the spring sunshine for the ceremony which had a woodland feel under the branches of a huge beech tree surrounded by acres of daffodils – gorgeous.

Beautifully manicured gardens were the setting for the drinks receptions and we moved out onto the expansive lawn in front of the castle for a few photos and an energetic confetti run. The final location that Myres Castle had to offer was the “Barnquee” – a cross between a barn and a marquee hidden away amongst the trees at the far end of the formal gardens.

Award Winning

Myres Castle has won a stack of awards is certainly a wedding venue I will be recommending to anyone who asks. They did Sarah and James proud and their wedding day will be one that stands out in my memory.
